Peer Health Exchange was created in 2003, by young people for young people. They partner with high schools to share their belief that health education is fundamental to a young person’s success. They work to address unmet health education needs in an effort try to support all young people in making healthy decisions with an understanding that the individuals who have been oppressed don’t always get to access the health knowledge and resources that they need and deserve. In order to meet this need, Peer Health Exchange trains college students to deliver health education to high school students through a near-peer model as slightly older peers these college students are well-positioned to lead honest conversation on topics around healthy choices.
