Steppenwolf Theater

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is a Tony Award-winning Chicago theatre company founded in 1974 by a collective group of dedicated actors in a church basement. Now almost four decades later the Company has become the nation’s premier ensemble theater-redefining the landscape of acting and performance. Every year the Company produces 16 plays and nearly 700 performances, readings, and other events every year on three stages. Steppenwolf opened their reimagined campus in late 2021 with a new Ensemble Theater and the Liz and Eric Arts and Education Center. The fourth floor of the new Liz and Eric Arts and Education Center is home to The Loft a brand-new space designed to house all of Steppenwolf Education’s programming to inspire the next generation of theater learners, makers and appreciators.
