The Whitney Museum of American Art presents the full range of twentieth century and contemporary American art, with a special focus on works by living artists. Their mission is to support modern and contemporary American art and artists, to collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit the American Art of our time. With a newly opened education department, the Whitney strives to approach museum education as an experimental process in which art helps us better understand the world around us and inspires creative thinking outside the Museum’s walls.
