Remaking Middle School is an initiative out of YouthNex, aimed at working with schools to re-envision and remake the middle school years as positive and transformative educational experiences for all young adults. YouthNex, a University of Virginia organization, is a center that focuses on youth development, especially middle school. They are working to help support students who are at risk of violence, physical and mental health issues, substance abuse and school failure. They do this work by applying the science of Positive Youth Development to enhance the strengths of these young individuals.
